It’s fair to say 2024 was a pivotal year for marketing, as the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions continues to change the way we all work, live, consume and create. Last year’s forecast focused on how small businesses can use AI to their advantage, and it’s probably no surprise that the democratisation and widespread use of these technologies is included in our 2025 forecast too.
While acknowledging that “what will trend in 2025 will be the shiny object that is AI and all of the cool things that you can do with it,” elite marketing coach Amara Omoregie points out that, “the ability to connect with humans on a deeper level will be what people will resonate with. What needs to trend is knowing our customers better and using technology to build deeper relationships with customers.”
Another trend you’ll see in 2025 is people moving to more niche social media platforms, whether for personal use or for marketing and communication needs.
TikTok and Instagram will continue to dominate, but don’t be surprised to see other smaller platforms gain traction. Users are turning to apps that appeal to their particular interests or demographics, and businesses who can tap into these audiences will benefit from targeted marketing opportunities with highly engaged audiences.
Meanwhile, Trump’s favourite tech bro, Elon Musk, has done such a great job of rebranding Twitter as X that he’s managed to drive a number of high-profile names, companies and publications away from the platform. OK, so it wasn’t the mass exodus we all expected, but there’s been a steady trickle away from X and towards less well-known options like Bluesky Social and Instagram Threads.
Last year, I also wrote about the importance of user experience (UX) and customer satisfaction, which can help small businesses stand out from the competition. This remains a vital strand of marketing and web best practice in 2025.
And no marketing forecast would be complete without touching on video content, a staple of most successful digital marketing strategies and something that – especially in its short-form style – shows no sign of slowing down.
As always, I’ve scoured the predictions of some of the best digital marketers in the world and compiled the ones most relevant to you as mobile DJs and event businesses.
Finally, I’d like to wish you all the best of luck with your marketing in 2025 and beyond.
