Justin Timberlake Returns After Six Year Break
The ‘Cry Me A River’ singer has posted a one-minute long video on YouTube to announce his highly-anticipated return to music. The clip, titled ‘I’m Ready’ discusses his extended break from the industry.
It has been more than six years since his last release ‘Future Sex/LoveSounds’, which included the Grammy award winning tracks ‘What Goes Around’ and ‘Lovestoned’. Despite taking a break from music, Justin has appeared in several high profile films such as ‘Friends With Benefits’, ‘The Social Network’ and ‘Bad Teacher’ with Cameron Diaz.
During ‘I’m Ready’ he explains his apprehension of releasing music before it was ready: "Look, I've only done two albums in ten years. That's the way I really look at it, what does the next decade mean for me? As close as I get to it I don't know if I could physically torture myself year in and year out and expect it to fulfill me the way that it does and the way that it is right now. I don't want to put anything out that I feel is something I don't love. You just don't get that every day. You have to wait for it. I'm ready."
Justin already has a celeb on his side in the form of his namesake Justin Bieber. The mini popstar contacted Timberlake on Twitter about his forthcoming material, “@jtimberlake @Timbaland i have heard some stuff. u got a good reason to be ready. #greatmusic."
This week Justin announced that his new single will be ‘Suit And Tie’ featuring rapper Jay-Z and his new album will be ‘The 20/20 Experience’. Rumoured collaborators include Timberlake, Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams.
