Status Quo Currently Filming Movie
Ageing rockers Status Quo have been filming their own upcoming movie named ‘Bula Quo’, which is to be released next year. The comedy/action James Bond spoof will star band members Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi and take place in Fiji, hence the title which is a traditional Fijian greeting.
US comic Jon Lovitz and former ‘Eastenders’ actor Craig Fairbrass will also be appearing in the unusual film, which will be directed by Stuart St Paul (‘Batman’/‘Aliens’). Photos have emerged from filming (pictured below) and include shots of the duo hurtling through a pane of glass as well as emerging from the sea ‘Daniel Craig’ style (albeit without the same reaction!)
Speaking about the film, the band's singer Francis Rossi said: "The one thing Quo fans know is to expect the unexpected." Guitarist, Rick Parfitt, added: "This is an amazing chance for us to do something new and we're all really excited."
However the band aren’t the first stars to go into feature films, they follow the likes of The Spice Girls, The Beatles and S Club 7. The duo haven’t let on whether they will be playing themselves in the film, though it has been confirmed that the soundtrack will include 12 classic Status Quo songs.
In December, the band will tour once again and be supported by the legendary Bonnie Tyler and Boney M. Currently they are also working on a new album and will release a single titled ‘The Winner’ later this month to coincide with the Olympic Games.
