Red Hot Chili Peppers Will Release 18 Tracks In 6 Months
The Red Hot Chili Peppers will be releasing a whopping 18 new singles over the next six months. The band had previously announced their ambitious decision but now they have confirmed full details of the releases, which will begin in August.
The songs were recorded at the same time as their 2011 album ‘I’m With You’ but were not added to the album’s track list. Over the next six months the band will release nine double A-sided 7” singles commencing with ‘Strange Man’ and ‘Long Progression’ on August 11th.
The second pair of sides ' Magpies and Victorian Machinery ' will be released on September 11, 2012. The third pair of sides ' 'Never Is A Long Time' and 'Love Of Your Life' ' will be released on October 2, 2012. The fourth pair of sides (titles TBD) will be released November 6, 2012. The fifth pair of sides (titles TBD) will be released December 4, 2012 and the sixth pair of sides (titles TBD) will be released December 18, 2012. The final two releases will be released in early 2013.
The band’s guitarist Josh Klinghoffer offered his thoughts on the tracks, 'Finding songs that seem to want to join hands with others is a special task that requires the right people, and the right songs! Some songs seem to have a lot more of an agenda than others. Some songs play well with others and some songs need more attention and a little extra care. Here are some songs that seemed to want to pair up and take a later train. Keep your eye on them, they're up to something."
The band will return to the UK and Ireland to play at Knebworth Park on June 23rd, Sunderland’s Stadium Of light on June 24th and Dublin’s Croke Park on June 26th.
