New Cut-Price Transit Cover For Mobile DJs
Mobile DJs could be putting their livelihoods at risk if they fail to insure their equipment while in transit. Whilst personal effects and in-car entertainment systems are usually covered for up to about £400 under the vehicle’s insurance, business equipment is rarely included.

Now a new policy launched by specialist broker Adrian Flux Insurance Services aims to plug the gap in cover, with equipment worth up to £5,000 covered in transit for just £59 a year. Paul Smith, of the Alliance of Mobile & Party DJs, urged those who regularly transport equipment to and from events to check their cover. “Failure to cover equipment properly could have devastating consequences for mobile DJs if it is damaged in a traffic accident or stolen from the vehicle,” he said. “Many believe that their disco equipment is covered under their standard vehicle insurance, household policy or even their PLI; however this is not usually the case and equipment needs to be covered separately for full protection.”

Gerry Bucke, general manager at Adrian Flux, added “This new policy is a very cost effective way of making sure that, should the worst happen, DJs can quickly replace their equipment and fulfil their engagements without a hitch.” The cover offered by this policy applies while equipment is being loaded to and from the vehicle, in transit and whilst in the van overnight as long as the vehicle is either alarmed or kept in a locked compound or garage.
