New Tabletop CD Player from Kam
The latest product to be released from popular mobile DJ equipment brand Kam is a fully featured and affordably priced tabletop CD player. The KCDMP320 has a sleek black design with rounded corners and backlit controls that look great in a darkened room. It supports playback from both regular audio CDs and those written with MP3 data and is compatible with CD-R and CD-RW discs.
Featuring a slot loading disc mechanism and a large touch sensitive vinyl emulation scratch/jog wheel, the player offers a number of advanced features to aid with creative music mixing. There is a seamless loop function, with B-edit option and ‘reloop’ button, together with two separate 8-second samplers, three hot cue points and a reverse playback feature. The large pitch fader can be set to a range of +/- 4, 8, 16 and 100% and is provided with a ‘master tempo’ key control button. The jog/scratch wheel can be used for momentarily altering a track’s tempo during playback to aid with beat mixing, searching quickly through a track to find a particular section and also to ‘scratch’ a track thanks to the internal vinyl emulation feature.
To help ensure the music never stops playing the KCDMP320 is fitted with a 10 second anti-shock feature and two players can be connected together for automated relay play. Outputs are provided in the form of standard analogue RCA stereo, and also digital RCA coaxial S/PDIF, connections.
The KCDMP320 is available from DJ retail stores now with an SSP of £299.95. Look out for a full review in the September/October issue of the magazine.
