The advancements in LED technology that have taken place over the last few years have meant that many classic DJ effects have been re-vamped and given a new lease of life. At BPM last year American DJ offered the first glimpse of their LED powered version of the simple, but effective, DJ favourite the Pin Spot. With their latest product they have taken this idea to the logical next level to create an LED version of the popular 80s / 90s lighting effect, the Pin Spot Scanner.

Named the LED Oscilator, the latest addition to the ADJ range features the same 3W white LED Pin Spot that has previously been available, with the addition of a motorised scanning base which creates a classic search light effect. The unit is fitted with a base plate that can either be hung from a lighting bar or stood on a flat surface such as a speaker, table or even directly on the floor. Measuring just 140x100x155mm and weighing 1kg, the LED Oscilator is a compact and lightweight retro effect with all the benefits of modern technology.
