Whether it’s a wash of color to set the right mood, or high-energy chasing lights to pump up the dance floor, the new Mega Bar Pro from American DJ can do the job. An RGB color-mixing DMX-controllable LED bar, this quick-change artist can function as an LED wash one minute, then like magic, transform itself into a color chasing effect, with its individual LEDs moving to the music in exciting patterns, colour flows and chases.
Measuring 1 metre in length, the Mega Bar Pro contains 27 high-output 1W LEDs - 9 red, 9 green and 9 blue. The elongated bar can create an infinite palette of colors through RGB mixing when controlled via DMX. It can also be used without a controller, running through a variety of exciting built-in chase, strobe and colour mixing programs.
With its chameleon-like versatility, the Mega Bar Pro lends itself to a wide range of applications. As a colour LED wash bar, it’s great for stage shows, mood lighting, displays, exhibits, or any type of wall-washing or up-lighting; meanwhile, turn on the colour chasing effects, and it’s a perfect disco light. For maximum impact, multiple bars can be linked together to amplify the high-energy colour chasing and patterned effects.
“The Mega Bar Pro is a truly versatile and unique LED wash bar that’s actually two effects in one,” said Scott Davies, General Manager of the American DJ Group of Companies. “It can be used as a color wash to set a tranquil mood at a restaurant during dinner. Then later in the evening, when the establishment turns into a dance club, it can energize the crowd with moving and strobing coloured lights that race around to the beat of the music.”
No matter how it’s used, operators will find it easy to tailor the Mega Bar Pro to their needs, thanks to its many operational modes. It can be run in eight different DMX modes – 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 11, 27 and 29-channel – to control features such as colour-mixing, colour flow, fades, colour macros, chase speed, strobing and 0-100% electronic dimming.
Another handy option is the ‘Programs Mode’, which allows users to operate the Mega Bar Pro’s LEDs manually via an onboard menu and buttons - no external controller required! Users simply select from 17 built-in programs and then utilise the menu and buttons to adjust the different features each program has to offer, such as strobe speed, fade time, and colour combinations.
The Mega Bar Pro can also be run in Sound Active and Auto Modes via its internal programs. Additionally, multiple units can be linked Master-Slave via XLR cable, with all bars chasing, strobing, changing colours and flowing together for a really spectacular visual display.
Featuring a beam angle of 30°, the Mega Bar Pro offers a variety of mounting options. It includes brackets for mounting on truss or walls, and it can also be set on the floor. Housed in durable aluminum casing, the Mega Bar Pro is rugged and lightweight, weighing just 3.6kgs. It measures 1025 x 65 x 88mm.
The RRP of the Mega Bar Pro is £299
