2015 Sees ADJ Celebrate 30 Years
Popular mobile DJ lighting brand ADJ will mark its 30th anniversary with a series of events throughout 2015, starting with the NAMM trade show later this month. The California-based company, founded by current Chairman Chuck Davies back in 1985, started out as a local lighting supplier before growing into a respected global presence within the professional lighting industry.
Despite originally making products solely for mobile entertainers, ADJ eventually expanded by adding the Elation Professional, Acclaim Lighting, American Audio and Global Truss America/DuraTruss brands to its group; enabling the production of lighting, audio and staging solutions for nightclubs, concert tours, bands, houses of worship, TV and stage, as well as mobile DJs and entertainers.
“It’s been an incredible journey; from our humble beginnings growing out of my hi-fi store business in the early eighties, through various technological innovations, to our position now with a host of respected brands and offices on five continents,” said Mr. Davies. “At the heart of our success over the years has been our people – many of whom have a background as DJs, performers or lighting designers and therefore really know about what our users need. Everyone at ADJ shares a passionate for what we do, and I think that our customers appreciate that.”
“I’d like to thank every one of our employees, partners and customers, both past and present, for their contribution to ADJ’s success over the past 30 years,” he added, “and I look forward to seeing what the future brings.”
Meanwhile, current ADJ President Toby Velazquez (who has been with the company right from the start) is confident about the year ahead: “It has been an honour to be a part of ADJ over the past 30 years as the company has grown from a small local business here in LA to become the market-leading multi-national it is today,” he explained. “Right from the start ADJ’s philosophy was to bring together quality and affordability, and this is something that we continue to strive for across all of our product lines in 2015. With technology continuing to develop at an incredible rate, the success of the company looks set to endure as we continue to offer cutting-edge pure lighting excitement to our customers worldwide.”
ADJ will be celebrating this milestone anniversary throughout 2015 with a number of events world-wide. The brand also has a host of new product launches planned for throughout the year, starting with three new products from its Startec Series; aimed at mobile DJs, bands and other performers looking for affordable, portable effects.
