Pioneer DJ to Release Gold Edition DDJ-SZ Controller
Pioneer DJ will release a limited run of Gold Edition DDJ-SZ controllers, giving mobile DJs the chance to own the professional four-channel controller with a gold finish. This new edition (the DDJ-SZ-N) comes after the DDJ-SZ was named ‘Ultimate DJ Controller 2014’ in the DJ Mag Tech Awards, presented at last year’s BPM, due to it being the first controller to mirror the Serato-friendly layout of the CDJ-2000NXS.
Designed for use with Serato DJ, the DDJ-SZ offers an improved setup for more intuitive control of the software. This optimised layout makes the DDJ-SZ particularly favourable with mobile DJs that want the feel of a ‘club’ controller, while the unit’s Performance Pads are fitted with customisable cue-point LEDs, and its full-sized jog wheels with ‘on jog’ display and digital cue-point markers, to offer more creative freedom.
The DDJ-SZ also features a magnetic cross-fader and high/low pass filter on every channel, allowing DJs to introduce samples and mix tracks more effectively. Furthermore, with two sound cards and USB ports, mobile DJs can connect two storage devices to the DDJ-SZ, enabling them to have a backup device connected and ready to go should their main device fail.
The DDJ-SZ-N (Gold Edition) will be available from March 2015, while the original DDJ-SZ is currently available in classic black.
