The SC2900, Denon DJ’s ultimate fixed-platter 'hands-on' multimedia digital DJ controller, is now available for just £399 inc. VAT. To launch the new price, Denon DJ is giving away a SC2900 in a new Facebook competition and has also released a new Feature Overview video.
Traditional audio CD and MP3 data can be integrated, alongside WAV, AIFF, MP3 and AAC playback via USB or computer hard drive with the SC2900. Being a fully MIDI-compliant device, the player is also an exceptional controller, with supplied native .tsi file for Traktor Pro plus new mappings available for other leading DJ software, such as MixVibes Cross and Virtual DJ. In addition, utilising its new 'Hybrid Mode', the SC2900 now fully operates the main functions and capabilities of Serato DVS programs.
Free with the SC2900 is Denon DJ's much-praised 'Engine' music management software. This allows users to 'Prepare, Perform & Control' with a single, a pair, or up to four networked units and access a music library from USB or PC/Mac. Track selection and individual deck loading can be monitored via the SC2900's large on-board display. For an enhanced experience however, the DJ can utilise Engine's iPad integration, gleaning highly visual and fast crate navigation, track selection and deck load functions.
DJ's can look to the future but keep one - or both – hand(s) on the classic DJ performance factors, as the SC2900 brings superior and total control, with full transport, variable pitch range, looping, hot cues and slip mode too. The intuitive, torque-adjustable 7" 'vinyl' feel platter is illuminated with the user-customisable (brightness and colour) rotation lights. This LED cue and position marker is also mirrored with a smaller circular indicator on the SC2900's main viewing screen. In addition, the unit has controls for standard/fast search, vinyl and reverse modes (for removing expletives etc.), flexible tree crate navigation dial, BPM sync, music key adjust and more.
Here is the new Feature Overview video, giving a concise visual run through of what the SC2900 has to offer:
Now at an all new, irresistible 2014 price point, SC2900 users can truly embrace the legacy deck techniques and live performance attributes that formed the origins of DJ culture. This power-house unit adds the integration of almost limitless control capabilities plus multi-platform hardware and software combinations, available to the contemporary DJ. The Burr Brown 24bit DAC sound quality, flowing via the 2900's analog and digital outputs, round off the main feature list with a world-class audio stream to connect to anything from the smallest to the largest of sound systems!
