CHAUVET DJ Releases Powerful New Moving Head Fixtures
CHAUVET DJ has added two new fixtures to its Intimidator range; packing in 7 quad-colour (RGBW) 20W LEDs, the Wash Zoom 250 IRC and the Wash Zoom 350 IRC are the latest moving-head wash units to be released by the company.
The new Intimidator Wash Zoom 250 IRC is a feature-rich compact moving head fitted with features including manual zoom, for short-throw or long-throw applications, wireless non-DMX control using the optional IRC-6 remote, and built-in automated programs with sectional control.
Many of the features of the Wash Zoom 250 IRC can also be seen in the Intimidator Wash Zoom 350 IRC, except the 350 is a larger unit and varies slightly in some of its key features. To start with, both units are fitted with 7 quad-colour LEDs, meaning they provide bright, powerful light – a solid, reliable choice for mobile DJs of all types. Both fixtures also have power linking and are extremely fast.
However, where the two differ is their zones of control; where the smaller fixture, the Wash Zoom 250 IRC, has 1 zone of control, the Wash Zoom 350 IRC has 4; controlling its LEDs in pairs. This 4-zone control means that the Wash Zoom 350 can be used as both a wash light and as an eye-catching part of a lightshow, and mobile DJs will find this versatility particularly useful depending on the nature of an event or the type of venue they’re working. The Intimidator Wash Zoom 350 IRC also features motorised zoom control (as opposed to manual), and where the Wash Zoom 250 uses 7 or 14 DMX channels, the 350 uses 14 or 29. Finally, with the 350 model 12 units (rather than 9) can be powered from a single power supply at 230V.
So, the Intimidator Wash Zoom 250 IRC will work well for mobile DJs as a moving head wash unit; it’s fast, compact and easy to operate due to automated programs and the wireless IRC-6 remote control capability. Being lightweight and small in size, the 250 is ideal for mobile DJs who need an easily transportable fixture.
But for DJs who want a reliable wash whilst adding something more to their lightshow, the Wash Zoom 350 – due to its 4 zones of control and motorised zoom – offers a sure-fire solution, especially when users can operate the lightshow using automated programs and the IRC-6 remote. Either way, both fixtures feature 7 quad-colour LEDs, meaning that both will provide the user with bright, powerful light – no matter what the application.
