| Mastermix DVD Visuals V 2
|
As the price of data projectors continues to fall, more and more mobile DJs are adding them to their shows. This presents the dilemma of finding interesting, mesmerising or quirky video footage worthy of big screen projection; cue the second volume in the Mastermix DVD Visuals series.
Following the same format as its predecessor, this second edition features 20 new and distinctly different video clips. The DVD has a retail price of £20, which means that you are effectively paying £1 per clip. The disc will play on a standard home DVD player or PC and has a simple menu that allows quick selection of each clip.
First up on the disc is a jerky sequence of neon lights on a black background, which is ideal for club type dance music. In a similar vein are further clips of glow sticks and of 'cyber kids' dancing in front of an illuminated background. There is also a computer generated time tunnel effect, which reminded me of early 90's dance music videos.
Other clips are more suitable for creating a party atmosphere, with balloons bouncing around under coloured light and a retro rainbow animation with stars shooting from behind. There is also a good sequence showing a 'disco ball', one of the multi-coloured effects that are popular in gadget shops, which blends between different camera angles and also uses a jerky strobe type effect.
