Britney Announces New Album
Britney Spears has named her forthcoming 8th album ‘Britney Jean’ and described it as her most personal album yet.

‘Britney Jean’ is due out in December, following from 2011’s ‘Femme Fatale’. This album also marks another collaboration with musician/producer will.i.am, “It's very exciting, and this album is different from any other album I've done. It's very moody and electric and different so, it's pretty cool," she told BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw. "It's really nerve-racking 'cos you spend so much time on it and you've been really dedicated to this album and working with Will as co-producer has been cool. So it's like my baby coming to life."

The album title includes Britney’s middle name 'Jean' and is a family nickname, "It's a little odd," she noted when quizzed about how it feels to have the world know her personal nickname. "But I think I wanna share it with my fans 'cos that's a term of endearment when they call me that. So I kinda want to share that with everyone."

Britney has sold over 100 million albums, with all but one reaching the top ten. Her first album ‘Baby One More Time’ (pictured below) reached number 2 in the UK and spawned the singles ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’, ‘Born To Make You Happy’, ‘Sometimes’ and ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy’.

Britney’s previous collaborations have included Madonna, Missy Elliot and will.i.am and she also has a forthcoming single with Miley Cyrus. Brit has recently said she would like to join forces with ‘Blurred Lines’ singer Robin Thicke.

‘Britney Jean’ is scheduled for release on the 2nd of December through RCA Records.
