Lulu To Perform First London Gig In 10 years
Singer and actress Lulu is set to return to the London stage for the first time in a decade. The headline show will take place at Under The Bridge on the 4th of October.
The performance will no doubt be as successful as her concert at BB King’s in New York last month which had critics raving. The performance at Under The Bridge will be a one-off rock and soul show featuring music from a range of artists such as Otis Redding, Al Green, Joe Cocker and Eric Clapton. Lulu enthused about the forthcoming event, “It's just me and my favourite musicians playing songs that I grew up with and that mean the most to me - a real back to my roots and back to the music - all in a great venue.”
Lulu was just 15 when she burst onto the entertainment scene with the Isley Brothers' ‘Shout’ after signing with Decca Records. She has since topped the charts in every decade and worked with some of the world’s biggest artists including Jimi Hendrix, Elton John, David Bowie and Take That with the ever-popular ‘Relight My Fire’. Not one to stick with just music, Lulu also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing (pictured below) as well as starring in the classic film ‘To Sir With Love’.
Made an OBE in 2000, Lulu has showed no signs of slowing down. She embarked on two ‘Here Come The Girls’ tours with Anastacia, Heather Small and Chaka Khan as well as making numerous TV appearances.
Tickets for Lulu’s London show are available from the Under The Bridge website priced at £29.
