Gary Barlow Closes Record Label
X Factor judge and Take That member Gary Barlow has been forced to close his record label Future Records after just three years of business.

The label has housed a number of critically acclaimed acts including classical singer Camille Kerslake and Sky1’s ‘Must Be The Music’ winner Emma Gillespie who is better known under her stage name Emma’s Imagination. Both singers reached the top ten with their releases as well as fellow signee Aggro Santos who had a number 5 hit with ‘Candy’ featuring Kimberley Wyatt.

Reports suggest that the company’s £4 million losses are the reason for the close, however, Gary issued a statement claiming personal reasons, “It's been a very difficult decision but it came down to time. I've had a lot going on recently and I want to spend more time with my family." Artists who are signed to the label, including recent signings Lonsdale Boys Club and solo artist A*M*E (pictured below), will be folded into parent company Universal.

Barlow is currently finishing up a successful solo tour which included 25 dates around the UK and Ireland. Last year, as well as sitting on the X Factor judging panel for a second series and masterminding the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert, he received the Music Industry Trust award and was awarded an OBE for services to entertainment and charity work.
