The Bee Gees Release ‘MYTHOLOGY’
Produced to celebrate 50 years of the band’s career, the Bee Gees have compiled a musical and visual scrapbook in the form of a four-disc box set named ‘MYTHOLOGY’.

The set, which will be available to buy on the 3rd of December 2012, spotlights a different Gibb brother on each CD, including one dedicated to Andy Gibb who died in 1988. The songs for each disc were personally chosen in 2010 by Barry, Robin, Maurice's widow Yvonne (and their children Adam and Samantha) and Andy's daughter Peta. “These are pretty much our personal favourites,” Barry explains in the linear notes.

‘MYTHOLOGY’ also features a collection of family photos, many never-before published, along with tributes from artists such as George Martin, Brian Wilson, Elton John, Graham Nash, and the band's long-time manager Robert Stigwood.

The set was created before brother Robin Gibb passed away earlier this year and he had previously commented “this is now the Bee Gees 50th anniversary, and by the Bee Gees, I mean all four brothers. I always see our songs as 'just us brothers' having a good time. When I look back now, it is more about the journey, not the arrival.”

The box set features tracks from the band’s iconic five-decade career including their a selection of well-loved classics as well as several less-known songs such as their early single ‘Spicks And Specks’ from 1966, ‘Country Woman’ from 1971 and ‘Spirits (Having Flown)’ from 1979. ‘MYTHOLOGY’ also features the debut of a pair of previously unreleased Maurice Gibb tracks: ‘Angel Of Mercy’ and ‘The Bridge'.
