New Product From American Audio
American Audio are using the 2010 Winter NAMM Show that is currently taking place in Anaheim California to launch their latest product, the VMS4 - velocity MIDI station. The new four channel USB DJ mixer / controller boasts tons of features and we've also heard rumours that when it lands in the UK later in the year it will have a nicely affordable price tag.
The VMS4 combines two sets of hardware player controls for operating a DJ's software application of choice, together with a four channel mixer section that can be used both as a hardware mixer and software controller. Each of the mixer's four channels is equipped with separate gain, treble, mid and bass EQ controls, while two microphone channels are also provided.
When it comes to software control the VMS4 is natively compatible with Traktor and features a whole host of MIDI assignable controls including 50 LED illuminated buttons (including 18 with dual blue/red LEDs), 34 rotary controls, 5 linear faders and 4 rotary controls. The device also incorporates a built-in mouse pad, which means there's no need for a DJ to take their hands of the VMS4 even if a software feature isn't mapped to one of the other controls.
