NADJ to hold Gathering in Scotland
After an informal meeting earlier this year, the NADJ are working closely with a few of their pro-active and enthusiastic DJs in Scotland towards forming a Scottish branch of the association. The guys on the ground are holding their first gathering on Wednesday the 27th of November 2013 at the DJ Depot store from 7.30pm.

Craig from the DJ Depot (KLS Entertainment) in Falkirk has kindly offered his shop to hold the meeting and will turn it into an open night for all DJs (members and non-members of the National Association of Disc Jockeys are welcome to attend the free event). To make the gathering even more appealing, Craig is putting on nibbles and also offering a fantastic deal where there will be at least 10% off the products sold on the night. This is a perfect opportunity for DJs to get their rigs ready for the busy Christmas and New Year period.

Chauvet are sending over one of their representatives to show off some of their latest and most popular products and on the educational front (something the NADJ actively promotes), there will be a short seminar on how DJs deal with following up enquiries. This will be a great opportunity to find out how often you should chase up a client and how you should react if they come back with a suggestion that they've found someone cheaper. A representative from Line 6 will also bring along some of their products, including microphone systems and other audio equipment.

Coming all the way from the North East of England, the NADJ Membership Officer, John Forbes, will bring one of his colleagues, Gary Kenny, from the NADJ North East & Cumbria branch to offer some sage advice and guidance to those DJs who want to play a part in the formation of an NADJ Scotland branch. Gary is the treasurer for the North East branch and works with the other branch and national Committee members to run that branch very effectively. His experience of running a branch will come in handy, so the NADJ hope the local guys take full advantage of his knowledge and experiences.

The event will be free and there will be raffle tickets on sale for those who want to enter the prize draw. Craig has also arranged some goody bags to be handed out at the beginning of the night, so don't be late!

You can register your attendance (not compulsory) on the Facebook event page: www.facebook.com/events/570163479722697/

Don't forget that doors open at 7.30pm and here's the address and contact details for DJ Depot:

Please remember that this is a free gathering that is open to all DJs from all backgrounds. You do not need to be a member of the NADJ and there will be no hard sell tactics employed - that's not how the National Association of Disc Jockeys operates. So, come along and invite your friends as this may be the foundation for the formation of the very first NADJ Scotland branch.

The NADJ would like to offer sincere thanks to Christopher Matthews and Stephen Elliott for being two of the people who have spearheaded the informal meeting earlier in the year which lead to this meeting being put in place. The association recognises that there may be others who have also played an active part (including Craig at DJ Depot), so their thanks go out to them as well.
