Mastermix Issue 347 Offers Latest Party-Starting Mixes!
The latest edition of Mastermix's flagship DJ-only release, Issue 347 consists of two discs, each featuring mixes, remixes, mash-ups and extended floor-fillers, exclusively mixed by the Mastermix team for use by mobile jocks and commercial club/bar DJs.

This new compilation includes a captivating assortment of modern-day chart hits, essential dance tracks and golden oldies, making it suitable for all events and ideal for DJs that play to differing crowds!

Kicking off disc one, the ‘Chart Breakers’ segment includes six tracks, starting with Jason Derulo’s romantic floor-filler ‘Want To Want Me’, the bouncy beat of which take us nicely into the lazy brass intro and exotic flavours of recent smash hit ‘Cheerleader’ by Jamaican artist OMI. As the trumpets sound their last call, we’ve already segued into Carly Rae Jepson, whose latest offering, ‘I Really Like You’, offers up a polished pop sound that’s guaranteed to keep feet on the floor. After ‘Talking About’ – Conor Maynard’s sleek, club-ready hit, which offers hard-hitting basslines and sparkling synths – we’re treated to some Ariana Grande, whose delicate vocals are carried forward by a driving beat on ‘One Last Time’. Finishing up the Chart Breakers section is Zedd, who, after previous chart success with Hayley Williams, brings in Selena Gomez to embellish the big EDM drops and high-tempo beats ‘I Want You To Know’.

Kiesza’s ‘Sound of a Woman’ opens the ‘Essential Dance’ section, as tinkering keys move into a modern bassy sound before Clean Bandit take over with the orchestral, piano-led house vibes of their latest hit ‘Stronger’. Moving on, an addictive beat kicks in and ‘House Every Weekend’ by David Zowie delivers on the promise of its name, providing us with some immersive deep house. Closing the section, Pep & Rash offer up some harder content with ‘Rumors’ and Shift K3Y’s funky, dance-pop track ‘Name & Number’ sees us out.

The third main section for disc one is ‘100% Mashed Up From Mars!’, which offers a fast-paced and exciting mix of the biggest tunes from across the decades and genres. Running at a BPM of 135-137, section disc is ideal for when the party is really in full swing! An interesting remix of Adele’s ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ starts us off, eventually pulling in The Wanted and morphing into The Chainsmokers’ viral hit ‘#SELFIE’. But things really get going when Britney Spears’ ‘Ooh La La’ is cleverly mixed with the opening piano chords of ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ and the emotive vocals of ‘Wrecking Ball’ by Miley Cyrus. From there, the funky beat of ‘Blurred Lines’ joins with crunching guitars on Apollo 440’s nineties electronic track ‘Can’t Stop the Rock’ , before we move into the electro pop of Example’s ‘Changed the Way You Kissed Me’ and the bluesy guitar riffs of Lenny Kravitz.

Ending disc one, we’re treated to two remixes. The first sees One Direction’s ‘Kiss You’ tangled up in Cher Lloyd’s ‘Killin’ It’, producing a unique pop track with a slower, laid-back beat. The second is a hard-hitting remix of the Bee Gees’ ‘You Should Be Dancing’ and Dave Darrel’s ‘Children’, with modern bassy sounds meeting the disco vibes and unmistakable falsetto vocals of the Gibb brothers, ending disc one on a high.

Compiled by Pat Sharp, ‘The Funhouse Party Megamix pt.8’ open disc two. Throwing together popular hip hop like ‘Boom! Shake The Room’ and Kris Kross’s ‘Jump’ with classic pop such as ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ and Shaggy’s ‘It Wasn’t Me’, this mix is the ultimate party starter. Adding to these varying musical flavours, Pat also makes use of Europop classics – ‘The Sign’ by Ace of Base and ‘Sex On The Beach’ – and samples from East 17 and Captain Jack.

The second section of disc two, titled ‘Boogie Nights’, incorporates classic soul and disco tracks, opening with KC & the Sunshine Band’s ‘Shake Your Booty’ to really get the floor moving, appealing in particular to the older half of the audience! Next, we enjoy the futuristic funk of the Commodores, before the feel-good melodies of ‘Best Of My Love’ by The Emotions kicks in and Gene Chandler calls ‘all the foxy ladies’ to ‘Get Down’ on the floor! ‘Boogie Nights’ by Heatwave keeps things moving and, to end the section, Marvin Gaye’s classic ‘Got To Give It Up’ transforms into the funktastic ‘Boogie Oogie Oogie’ by A Taste of Honey.

An excellent accompaniment to ‘Boogie Nights’, the third section on disc two consists of ‘Atlantic Gold’, offering soul standards like ‘Knock On Wood’, ‘Respect’ and ‘Tramp’ by Otis Redding & Carla Thomas, alongside classic hits by Wilson Pickett – ‘Mustang Sally’ and ‘In The Midnight Hour’ – and Sam & Dave – ‘Soul Man’ and ‘Hold On I’m Coming’. A star-studded section that’ll get the dance-floor filled each and every time!

For section four, titled ‘Party All Night!’, Mastermix offers us a selection of club-friendly hits that are renowned for keeping the energy high and the place pumping. Opening with Pitbull’s brass-inflected ‘Fireball’, the section soon moves into a range of tracks designed to keep the party going until late. Sean Kingston’s EDM-style ‘Party All Night (Sleep All Day)’ and club favourite ‘Fire Burning’ put the party in overdrive, before Sean Paul’s classic ‘Temperature’ exudes some sexy urban vibes. Elsewhere, LMFAO bring the roof down with the infamous ‘Party Rock Anthem’ and the section closes with PSY’s dance-inducing YouTube hit ‘Gangham Style’.

Bringing Issue 347 to a close, the second disc ends with a remix that fuses the doo-wop pop of Meghan Trainor’s ‘Dear Future Husband’ with Olly Murs’ modern soul-pop hit ‘Dance With Me Tonight’. The result? A catchy, retro-sounding, feel-good finale!

Mastermix Issue 347 is available now on digital download or CD priced at £18.38. Individual mixes can also be purchased and downloaded separately.
