Native Instruments Unveils TRAKTOR KONTROL D2
DJ hardware and software manufacturer Native Instruments has announced the release of its TRAKTOR KONTROL D2, an advanced DJ performance deck designed for use with TRAKTOR PRO 2 that takes focus away from the laptop to give users a more creative feel.

The next-generation controller, which was officially announced this week, is intended for creative DJ performance. However, due to its compact, robust and lightweight design the TRAKTOR KONTROL D2 can easily be incorporated into a roadshow setup for mobile DJs looking to take their mixing into more experimental areas.

Native Instruments has incorporated a touch-and-see workflow in a compact format that ensures easy setup: the tracks appear on full-colour display while key views and pop-up panels are revealed when their corresponding controls are selected this means that when the browse knob is used, the browse view is triggered, allowing DJs to select tracks directly from the controller. Over the track waveforms, performance panels appear, allowing the BPM, key, filter and effects values for each track to be viewed and modified. Also of use to mobile DJs are the controllers eight colour-coded pads, which let the user trigger sounds, manage cue points in Hotcue Mode, and rearrange tracks on the fly in Freeze Mode.

Native Instruments has also tried to minimise the size and setup time of the TRAKTOR KONTROL D2, making the controller transportable and ideal for use by mobile DJs. The lightweight unit features four foldable feet, so users can extend the height to industry-standard level or incline the controller for added comfort. The new controller also comes with Native Instruments award-winning TRAKTOR PRO 2 software, which features four software decks, more than thirty studio-grade effects and advanced features for looping and cueing, letting mobile DJs get more creative with their mixing.

The TRAKTOR KONTROL D2 will also be one of the first DJ hardware controllers to support Native Instruments new Stems audio format that allows multi-channel mixing with individual musical parts. The controller will be fully compatible with the Stems format upon its release this summer.

Native Instruments TRAKTOR KONTROL D2 will be available at an SSP of 429.00 from the 4th of May 2015.
