Mark Walsh Receives 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award
Last night’s Gala Dinner at the Pro Mobile Conference saw Mark Walsh, Event Director for BPM-PRO and regular Pro Mobile contributor, presented with the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award in honour of his commitment to and passion for the industry.

The Pro Mobile Conference, now in its fourth year, kicked off yesterday (28th of February) and will end later today following a series of keynote seminars, workshops, networking sessions and product demonstrations.

The event’s Gala Dinner took place after an action-packed first day that saw American entertainment experts Randy Bartlett and Peter Merry deliver their first joint keynote in the UK, and industry outsiders like renowned South African mentalist Gilan Gork and ex-professional poker player Caspar Berry offer something new and exciting for delegates.

Prior to a delicious three course meal inside the Crowne Plaza Heythrop Park’s elegant ballroom, Pro Mobile Editor and Conference Curator Eddie Short presented business partner Mark Walsh with the annual Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by DJ Guard, which recognises long term commitment to the mobile DJ industry and the magazine.

With experience in just about every corner of the industry, from entertainment to product manufacturing to event management, Mark Walsh has been a prominent figure in the world of mobile DJing for a number of years, imparting his knowledge and advice across the pages of Pro Mobile in no less than 60 articles. This commitment has also been exemplified in his work as co-founder and Event Director for the annual BPM show, which provides DJs with a chance to learn, network and check out new products from top brands.

Upon receiving the award, Mark said: “I love this industry, I really do. And the social aspect of this event in particular is something really special. I’m honoured to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, but there’s still more work to do if we want to continue to grow this industry and improve the public perception of what it means to be a mobile or wedding DJ.”

He added, “The passion in this industry is immense – and I’m not one to stand still – so I think we can all expect some exciting changes ahead.”

The Pro Mobile Conference continues today, with exceptional speakers including internet expert Graham Jones and Apprentice star Katie Bulmer-Cooke heading up another day of informative talks and workshops.
