Pro Mobile to Host DJ-Focused Learning Space at BPM 2015!
As well as exhibiting in the Mobile DJ Village, this year’s BPM event will see Pro Mobile hosting one of the Learning Spaces across two days, giving mobile DJs access to a range of informative DJ-relevant seminars presented by some of the industry’s most-experienced figures.

Recognising the need for mobile DJs to keep up with new technology, build their business skills and work on their performance behind the decks, Pro Mobile will host one of BPM’s Learning Spaces on Sunday and Monday, providing visiting DJs with a focussed and engaging BPM experience.

Sunday at midday, Kevin McNally will present ‘The Weakest Link – DJing in the Red Light District’ as he explains how mobile DJs can ensure outstanding performances by understanding and optimising their sound system, drawing from his 35 years’ experience in DJing and professional audio install. Following this session, Alan Marshall, NADJ Chairman and full-time wedding DJ/MC, will answer the question, ‘Why Didn’t I Get the Gig (Is It Me?)’, exploring how making small changes in the way we value ourselves as DJs has a direct connection to success.

Mobile DJs seeking advice on ‘How to Beat the Competition and Get More Bookings’ will also find plenty of useful tips in discotheque-pioneer Roger Squire’s seminar, as he details his unique entertainment techniques and reveals a few secrets for boosting recommendation rates. Having coined the term ‘mobile discotheque’ back in the 1960s, along with an innovative new format, Roger has plenty of juicy anecdotes to throw out there (as delegates at this year’s Pro Mobile Conference found out!).

Later in the afternoon, Irish DJ Martin Keogh will take visitors through ‘A Day in the Life’ of a wedding DJ, drawing from his wealth of knowledge and experience, in a fast-paced seminar crammed with useful content. This talk will be ideal for those mobile DJs who specialise in weddings and want to pick up some tried-and-tested techniques, as Martin shares valuable information on how he does what he does so effectively.

Finally, seeing out Sunday, wedding host extraordinaire Derek Pengelly will explore the importance of ‘Making Your DJ Business Stand Out’ when it comes to commanding higher fees. In this insightful session, Derek will emphasise to visitors the importance of being different – from their website to their enquiries system to their on-the-night performance – offering a range of solutions for standing out.

Regular Pro Mobile contributor Tony Winyard will kick things off on Monday with his seminar, ‘Mobile DJs: Double Your Fees’, as he shares the techniques that have allowed him to rapidly increase his fees and shows others how to do the same. Also appearing on Monday, NADJ’s Paul Arnett will offer up ‘Ten Things You Can Do Right Now’, giving working DJs plenty of practical ideas for improving their business – all of which can be put into effect straight away!

Elsewhere on Monday, the Pro Mobile Learning Space will welcome Chauvet’s European Product Manager, Sam Bowden, who will address the increasing presence of wireless technology in DJ lighting in his seminar ‘Get Wired On Wireless Lighting’. As well as showing mobile DJs how to achieve stable wireless connections, Sam will highlight the pitfalls of using wireless in certain areas and ensure that visitors gain knowledge of how to set-up and use wireless systems – from initial set-up to smooth operation.

Also confirmed for the final day of BPM, respected Scottish wedding DJ, Stephen J Elliot, and professional singer Robert Watson, will share tools, tips and techniques to help mobile DJs discover their true potential. Focussing on overcoming self-limiting thoughts, this unique session will show DJs how to take their performances to the next level at every single gig.

Mobile DJs can view the full schedule of sessions, including dates and running times, over on the BPM website.
