Ahead of the NAMM Show in California, which kicks off later this week, ADJ has announced details of six new products that will be demonstrated at the exhibition for the first time. There’s a powerful new moving head wash, potent blinder, ‘dim-to-warm’ pinspot, illuminated lighting stand and two new all-white housing fixtures.

Denon DJ today (22nd January) announced that it has introduced Engine Prime v1.1, the latest version of its proprietary music analysis and librarian software. Delivering extensive new features, Engine Prime v1.1 adds more power and flexibility for DJs to manage their digital music collection, integrating improved iTunes folder management, improved library search capability and performance enhancements too.

Following the release of rekordbox ver 5.1 today (18th January 2018), Pioneer DJ has announced that the next version of its music management application, rekordbox, will be available on the 20th of February 2018. This updated software will bring new features to rekordbox dj including Lighting mode, which enables DJs to easily sync lights with their music during a performance.

At a glitzy ceremony in London last night (Wednesday the 17th of January), Andy Murphy was announced as the Wedding DJ of the Year 2018 as part of the national Wedding Industry Awards. Beating off stiff competition from the other regional winners in his category, Andy's win was announced in front of a large crowd of wedding industry professionals.

Pioneer DJ has created a new controller for dedicated use with its professional performance application, rekordbox dj. The 4-channel DDJ-1000 is designed to help DJs get the most from the new features coming to rekordbox dj in the latest version (ver 5.1), which will be available to download tomorrow (18th January 2018).

Ahead of the NAMM trade show that will take place in Anaheim, California at the end of this month, CHAUVET DJ has announced details of six new lighting fixtures – all suitable for mobile DJs – that will be added to its product line-up for 2018. These include an addition to the wireless Freedom series, a versatile new version of the popular GigBAR and a powerful multi-zone wash fixture.

Offering a whole host of advanced features, including CMY colour mixing, the VIZI CMY300 is ADJ’s new flagship moving head fixture. Powered by a 300W LED engine, it features two GOBO wheels, two rotating prisms, WiFLY wireless DMX and hybrid operation.

Pro Mobile’s Mark Walsh will present two short educational seminars at the 2018 Scottish DJ Show. Taking place in Glasgow on the evening of Wednesday the 31st of January, the show will also feature equipment exhibits from many leading mobile DJ equipment brands and special offers from two supporting DJ shops.
