If you’d told me back in 2008 – when I was a young, fresh-faced student – that 10 years later I would be starting my own business and growing it to become Scotland's biggest private event DJ agency, I would have said you were crazy. Because at that time I had no interest in DJing, or even really music.

It’s not just our smartphone apps, either.

The event world must finally be getting back on track post-Covid — the 2024 NAMM Show (held in Anaheim, California) was held in January for the first time since 2020. The world-wide pandemic resulted in the show's January slot being abandoned but now, NAMM is now back to its traditional position as the year’s kick-starter for live and production trade shows.

It’s one of those topics we love to turn our noses up at: good old ‘elf and safety. Of course, things weren’t the same back in the good old days before the clipboard waving inspectors came to ruin our fun. I mean, what’s wrong with people working without PPE and simply relying on common sense?
